Cosmetic Fillings, Inlays or Onlays
Cosmetic inlays and onlays (also known as partial crowns) are used to fill a large cavity in the tooth and are particularly suitable for large restorations of the back teeth. The material used can be tooth-coloured porcelain, or composite, or gold (often used for strength on the back teeth).
Inlays and onlays are strong and last longer than normal fillings. White fillings are not as strong or as long lasting and can discolour with time.
